UC Berkeley · Economics, Policy & Statistics
Most people call me Lisa.
I'm a student at UC Berkeley, where I'm pursuing a double major in Environmental Economics & Policy and Statistics. I transferred after a year at De Anza College, and along the way I've done computational biology research at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab and worked in venture capital at Plug and Play Tech Center.
Right now, I'm consulting for Impax Asset Management and the Plastic Pollution Coalition with 180 Degrees Consulting, and writing simulations in Python as an undergraduate researcher in Rausser College's SPUR program.
As for what comes next, I'm honestly still connecting the dots. I know I want to work where economics, data, and climate meet, whether that ends up looking like consulting, venture, or something more analytical. I'm using my time at Berkeley to try a little of each and figure out which one sticks.
Outside of school, I boulder (somewhere between V3 and V4) and have played flute and sang for about a decade. I keep a bookshelf of mostly dystopian fiction that's been collecting dust in recent months (Red Rising still holds up though!). I have a soft spot for films and their soundtracks, although Holly (my cat) makes sure she's the main character in my life. Every so often, I dabble.
I'd love to talk about anything, whether it's something you're working on or a movie reccomendation. Say hi on LinkedIn or at lisaqian AT berkeley DOT edu.
